Licence
What licence do I need to open a shop?
Officially we are a vending machine operator, not a shop opener, so we don’t need the usual shop licences.
You need to register specifically to start operating a vending machine. At the municipality where the business is located. For example, if you are opening a shop in Budapest but the operating company is based in Sopron, you will need to register with the Sopron municipality. Not in Budapest.
You will be able to apply for a permit through the municipality’s website. This is different on each website, so we recommend you phone the municipality directly. And let them know that you want to apply to start operating a vending machine.

What type of shop should we choose?
VENDO BOX stores are ideally located at street level and have a direct street entrance. We strongly advise against choosing a shop with a ground floor or patio.
In the case of basements, please also take into account the complicating factor that in case of rain, this type of shop is much more prone to getting wet due to our open door solution. If you nevertheless think that the shop you have chosen is suitable, please contact your franchise contact to discuss the location you have chosen.
What size shop should I choose?
A minimum of 10-12 sqm is recommended. However, you can have a smaller shop than this, for example if you are converting a newsagent’s kiosk or other similar building. You should calculate that 1 sqm of floor space is required for 1 machine and the same amount of space is taken up when the door is open.
Konstrukcija
A detailed survey by the contractor is required before construction begins. Particular care should be taken to examine the electrical network of the business. Therefore, we can only give a broad summary of what you can expect.
Power: Each vending machine needs a separate outlet, with small circuit breakers, in an accessible place so that it can be switched off one by one (ideally in the warehouse).
Water: you should have the necessary water outlet for the coffee machine, and you should leave a drain in your warehouse to empty the coffee machine.
Flooring: if the shop has a black or grey hard floor, no major intervention is needed, but any defects should be repaired and cleaned as best as possible.

How many times do I have to clean?
A VENDO BOX shop should be completely cleaned at least 2 times a week, preferably every 3-4 days. Particular attention should be paid to wiping dust in gaps. Glass surfaces should also be cleaned, taking care not to leave any stained surfaces, so always have glass cleaning spray and wiping cloths with you.
Clean the floor first with a vacuum cleaner and then mop it up. To avoid accidents, mark slippery surfaces with a board and pack them away once they are showing signs of drying.
Do not leave out advertising signs, information signs and any other places where dust can settle.
How to fill?
There are two basic principles: you can never have too much in your machine and your shop’s stock! 🙂 The more products you have in your machine the more turnover you will have.
When loading, take note of the shelf suggestions on the product list, but never leave any empty space! If a product has not arrived from the supplier, double the product next to it.
This gives you the opportunity to check the status of your coin/token validator and bank card reader. Every time you open your machine, test these by making test purchases.
